Breville's Oracle Jet espresso machine offers home brewing automation
Breville, an Australian coffee machine brand, launched the Oracle Jet home espresso machine. Oracle Jet includes an integrated Baratza European Precision Burr that grinds, doses and tamps, offering 45 grind settings. The Oracle Jet incorporates Breville's Auto MilQ technology with an automatic steam wand. This allows users to create microfoam with oat, almond, soy and dairy milks and customize it based on froth level and temperature preferences.
A 5-inch touchscreen allows users to select from 10 preset drinks, including cold brew and cold espresso options. The Barista Guidance feature helps users to achieve a balanced shot of espresso by providing real-time feedback on extraction, automatically identifying over- or under-extracted shots. It also can prompt improvements on grind size. An automation feature allows users to queue for the next step to automatically start steaming milk or extracting espresso, akin to having an experienced barista guiding you from start to finish.
The Oracle Jet's ThermoJet heating system, a digitally printed and energy-efficient heating circuit, allows the machine to heat up quickly to deliver the optimal extraction temperature. The heating system powers both the brew and milk-steaming functions. The Oracle Jet has two ThermoJets, with one located on the brewing group head to deliver a consistent 200°F (93°C) extraction, allowing users to customize the brew temperature in 1-degree increments.
