Keurig Dr Pepper reports on success of its corporate responsibility efforts
The progress made toward supporting corporate goals focused on the environment, supply chain, health and well-being, and community involvement is among the highlights of a corporate responsibility report from Keurig Dr Pepper Inc.
"We recently elevated Drink Well. Do Good., our longstanding corporate responsibility approach, to be KDP's company purpose. Our purpose plays a critical role in guiding how we go about delivering positive impact for our stakeholders through our strategic framework and business priorities," said CEO Tim Cofer. "This year's report highlights bold actions and strong partnerships to advance our multi-year agenda."
Among the gains in key sectors are:
- Reducing Emissions. KDP is on track to meet its 2030 goals of reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 30% and Scope 3 emissions by 15% (when compared to 2018 levels). In 2023, KDP reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 21% and Scope 3 emissions by 12%. It credits its use of renewable electricity and fleet electrification as some of the key drivers.
- Advancing a Circular Economy. KDP aims to reduce virgin plastic use by 20% by 2025. In 2023, it achieved a 15% reduction and used 27% post-consumer recycled content in packaging.
- Building Sustainable Supply Chains. KDP supported regenerative agriculture on over 43,000 acres in 2023 and reported it responsibly sourced 100% of its coffee and cocoa.
- Delivering Positive Hydration Products. KDP increased its positive hydration product portfolio to 59% in 2023, aiming for 60% by 2025, and expanded distribution to new markets.
- Investing in People and Communities. KDP partnered with the Red Cross and advanced diversity goals by increasing the representation of women and people of color in leadership roles.
