Summary

2025 has the potential to be a pivotal year for convenience services operators. Increasingly, operators are reporting better numbers in the workplace as the momentum is clearly moving toward “return to work,” but it is quite an adjustment for many.

Los Angeles Times article illustrates the challenge.

“Since Cynthia Clemons’ employer announced in September that she was required to be in the office, the switch from remote work hasn’t been smooth. “I feel like I’m back in grade school and being forced to sit down and do my homework,” she said. “Maybe it’s a matter of getting used to it.”

Employers are going to be anxious to provide amenities and will be expecting operators to help them create a comfortable environment for their people, as some will be struggling to make the transition back to the office.

Each year, there are certain select products and equipment that emerge as gamechangers that really make a difference for operators and end users.  Technology will surely lead the way. This webinar will focus on some game-changing solutions from our sponsors, 365 Retail Markets and ProWatch Solutions, but will also explore what operators, end users and account decision makers are looking for in 2025.

Topics will include the following:

  • What will motivate decision makers in 2025?
  • Are there some sustainability game changers?
  • Will indulgent products be the game changer?
  • Micro market game changer – it’s about ease of use, theft mitigation and profitability.
  • Can local products be a game changer in your market?
  • Can we create a new normal led by game-changing amenities?
  • What trends will emerge in 2025 and help define workplace amenities?
  • Will AI be a game changer in convenience services?
  • What was the biggest game changer in 2024?
  • Are operators in a better position than ever to ensure profitability?
  • How can operators maximize revenue and profitability using game changers in 2025?
  • Are there certain game changers that will help operators capture those sales that being lost to outside vendors?

Mark Kronenberg
Founder - ProWatch Solutions

Mark Kronenberg has convenience services in his DNA. He launched a vending software company in the 1980’s and is now at the helm of ProWatch Solutions, which has taken off following strong operator interest at recent trade shows. In the early 80’s, he developed software for his own operation, which had vending and industrial catering. He and his father started CompuVend Systems and owned that for 32 years before selling it to Cantaloupe.

Kronenberg was acting as an industry consultant when he began to recognize that operators were struggling with micro market theft, as it was challenging and time-consuming for them, if they even had the time to deal with theft.

Kronenberg began developing a technology-based solution called ARMS - Automated Retail Management System, about three years ago, which uses surveillance video and applying AI and other analytics to identify theft and other lost sales opportunities.  Kronenberg said the company’s basic vision is to put the attendant in unattended. “We are like a fly on the wall, looking and seeing what's going on in a market and identifying certain events or actions that will help improve performance. We use technology and artificial intelligence to identify issues and events that will help the market operator.”

Jared Detwiler - Vice President of Operations

Jared has been employed at One Source Office Refreshment Services of Pottstown, PA for over 20 years including both part time and full time. Graduating college in 2007 from Shippensburg University with a BSBA, Jared accepted a role as a Route Supervisor. Years later, he led One Source as their operations manager through the adoption of telemetry and cashless payments on all of their vending machines and the deployment of Cantaloupe in their organization. Following this, Jared and his team at One Source were one of the first operators in the country to deploy micro markets in client locations. Jared is a member of the NAMA education committee as well as participating in many other industry and NAMA sponsored events in vending, micro markets, OCS and pantry. As Vice President of Operations, Jared now leads the operations, finance and service/maintenance department at One Source focusing on utilizing new technology in the unattended retail space to gain both efficiency for the organization but to also deliver the very best customer experience.
