Eggo is bringing pop culture to the freezer case with its new Stranger Things Strawberry Waffles, the brand’s first red-tinted waffle made with natural fruit and vegetable juices and strawberry powder. The limited-edition item will be available at select U.S. retailers in October.
Tied to Netflix’s hit series, the launch is designed to capture fan excitement and spark impulse buys. Alicia Mosley, vice president of marketing at Kellanova Frozen Foods, said the crossover lets fans enjoy Eggo “at the center of their watch parties.”
For operators, the novelty flavor, eye-catching color and built-in buzz could help drive trial and differentiation in frozen assortments, particularly in micro markets and convenience locations where limited-time offerings stand out.
