Ben’s Original adds heat-and-eat rice meals for micro markets and vending
Ben’s Original, a Mars brand, is launching Ben’s Original single-serve cups and adding flavors to its Ben’s Original Street Food line of convenience meals. For convenience services operators, the meals offer options for micro markets and workplace pantries that have a grab-and-go appeal, quick cooking time, shelf-stable products, and are targeted at Gen Z and Millennials.
- Jasmine rice, packaged without added salt.
- Spanish-Style rice, paired with tomato, bell peppers and spices.
- Fried rice, flavored with tamari soy sauce and aromatic spices and accompanied by peas and carrots.
- Roasted chicken rice, flavored with real chicken, garlic, onions and parsley.
Additionally, Ben’s Original has introduced two new flavors to its Ben’s Original Street Food line. Honey BBQ Flavored Rice with Chicken is a sweet and smoky dish that contains chicken, beans and vegetables. Teriyaki-Style Rice with Chicken pairs chicken with rice and pineapple. Each bowl contains up to 13g of protein and 8g of fiber per serving.
What they are saying
“With the rise of busy, on-the-go lifestyles, it’s no surprise that more than half of Gen Zers are looking to try products that make cooking more convenient,” said David Jacobs, vice president of marketing at Mars Food & Nutrition North America, in a release, citing a Mintel 2024 marketing report. “Our new single-serve cups take the hassle out of meals and snacks, providing a delicious, filling option that makes creating healthy eating easier than ever.”
