US Foods grows Q1 case volume as hospitality rises 5%

For operators in the convenience services channel — especially those running foodservice programs in convenience retail, micro markets and other on-the-go settings — US Foods’ updates on service tools and delivery options are notable because many of the same cost, labor and availability pressures apply across prepared-food formats.

In its investor presentation, US Foods highlighted the launch of Menu IQ, which it described as an artificial intelligence-powered tool designed to help operators manage food costs and see real-time menu profitability. The company also said it introduced Signature, a hospitality-focused offering that combines products, technology and support intended to help customers manage labor, identify cost-savings opportunities and improve menu profitability for high volume events.

US Foods also reported progress on its Pronto program — the company’s expedited delivery and fulfillment offering — saying it expanded Pronto to 47 markets and that Pronto Next Day is live in 26 markets, with plans to add about 10 more markets this year.

On capital allocation, US Foods said it repurchased $125 million of shares during the quarter. The company reported net debt of $5.1 billion at quarter end and a net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio of 2.6x.

US Foods reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance previously issued in February, calling for net sales growth of 4% to 6%, adjusted EBITDA growth of 9% to 13%, and adjusted diluted earnings per share growth of 18% to 24%. The company said the guidance includes the impact of a 53rd week expected to add about 1% to total case growth and adjusted EBITDA growth.
