Chomps opens Missouri facility, expects to double production of protein snacks

With a focus on growth, Chomps' new facility is set to significantly increase its better-for-you snack production and expand its market presence.

Meat sticks maker Chomps opened a new manufacturing facility in Mexico, Mo., with long-standing strategic partner Western Smokehouse Partners. The 300,000 ft² facility was sited in the Missouri town in part due to its proximity to other Western Smokehouse Partners’ facilities and major interstate highways as well as the area’s skilled labor force.

Chomps and Western Smokehouse Partners hosted local dignitaries, state officials and partners in an opening event on July 23. The facility, operated by Western Smokehouse Partners, will produce Chomps products exclusively.

The new facility is expected to double Chomps annual production in 2026 from its current rate of 2 million individually wrapped sticks per day.
