Mars expands Nutri-Grain line with crisp Crunchy bar for on-the-go snacking
Mars is expanding its snack bar portfolio with Nutri-Grain Crunchy, a new crisp bar designed to deliver more whole grains and fiber in a convenient format. The bar was developed in response to growing consumer interest in purposeful nutrition, particularly fiber, the company said.
Nutri-Grain Crunchy will launch in two flavors. Chocolate Chip Chia combines chocolate pieces with subtle nuttiness from chia seeds. Honey Oat Flax pairs honey and whole grains with the added crunch of flax.
Each Nutri-Grain Crunchy bar contains at least 23 g of whole grains and provides a good source of fiber. To provide texture and whole-grain content, the recipe uses a blend of oats, barley, buckwheat, rye and quinoa. The bars are non-GMO, peanut-free and made without high fructose corn syrup, or artificial flavors or colors.
“Our goal with Nutri-Grain Crunchy was to bring something new to the aisle without losing what people already love about the brand,” said Eileen Flaherty-Yao, senior director of brand marketing at Mars, in a release. She described the bar as a crisp, flavorful option intended to support “the small but meaningful moments that carry people through the day.”
Mars said the new bars are meant to offer a familiar, mess-free bar format with updated nutrition credentials and flavor profiles aligned with current consumer preferences. Citing a 2024 U.S. Department of Agriculture report finding that the average American consumes about half of the recommended daily fiber intake, the company positioned Nutri-Grain Crunchy as an accessible option that fits easily into everyday routines.
The line extension is set to reach select retailers in January 2026, with a nationwide rollout expected by spring.
