Chobani expands high protein yogurt line

Tapping into consumer demand, Chobani High Protein will be made with natural ingredients and without added sugar.

A new line of high protein Greek Yogurt cups and drinks made from Chobani are made with natural ingredients and without added sugar. Recognizing consumer interest in ways to eat more protein and minimize added sugar in their diets, Chobani developed the High Protein products, which include cups with 20 g of protein, and drinks with 15, 20 and 30 g of protein in each serving without added protein powders, concentrates or preservatives.

“The desire for high protein, lower sugar offerings has moved beyond the hardcore fitness community and made its way to the mainstream consumer,” said Chobani chief innovation officer Niel Sandfort in a statement. “This is a good thing. Underneath the desire for more functional food is a shift in mindset where strength and positive nutrition, namely protein, is taking the place of calorie deprivation and cardio.”

The cups will be available nationwide in November, followed by the protein drinks in January 2025.
