Plant Based World Expo returns to New York for Dec. 9-10 run

Nov. 1, 2021
Billed as the must-attend B2B event featuring the biggest names in plant-based food, this year’s in-person exposition kicks off with keynote program with execs from Kroger, PBFA and Compass Group

Plant Based World Expo North America (PBW), the most anticipated plant-based event designed exclusively for a B2B audience, returns to New York on Dec. 9 and 10 at the Javits Center, where some 200 exhibitors are expected.

PBW combines a world-class conference with an exhibition showcasing thousands of innovative plant-based products and brands from around the world, plus high-level networking and tasting opportunities.

The event’s producers said PBW the only 100% plant-based trade show for foodservice and retail professionals, distributors, investors and manufacturers. More than 3,000 people are expected to attend the 2021 running.

“The plant-based industry continues to grow and innovate at a breakneck pace, and Plant Based World Expo is the only place to experience all the industry has to offer under one roof,” said PBW vice president of content Benjamin Davis.

“So much has happened since our last conference in 2019,” Davis continued, “and we can’t wait to bring the latest plant-based products to decision makers and educate them on how these foods will improve their bottom line and the health of the people they serve.”

PBW’s opening keynote panel titled “Growth of the Plant Based Industry” will be moderated by Nil Zacharias, host of the “Eat for The Planet Podcast” and will feature Rachel Dreskin, chief executive of Plant Based Foods Association; Susie Weintraub, chief executive of Envision Group, a division of foodservice giant Compass Group; and Holly Adrien, Kroger’s natural and organics strategy and innovation manager. The presentation will be held Thursday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The keynote panel will address the progress and growth of the plant-based category and preview what’s ahead. PBW participants will hear how retailers, foodservice operators and suppliers are evolving their businesses and the industry.

In addition to conference keynotes and sessions, PBW showgoers will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the latest consumer trends, data and research on plant-based foods;
  • See, taste and experience new product innovations and solutions;
  • Return to in-person networking with industry colleagues; and
  • Become an expert on plant-based food and help shape a healthier, more sustainable food system.

Plant Based World Expo is the official trade show of the Plant Based Food Association, which is headquartered in San Francisco. PBW is produced by JD Events, which brings together qualified buying audiences, education-rich content and high-level networking opportunities.
