Aramark Collegiate Hospitality creates mobile platform for virtual dining ordering
To meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, staff and guests, Aramark Collegiate Hospitality announced it created a new virtual dining innovation called The Drop, a mobile platform that allows contactless, digital-only ordering and payment for pick-up or delivery.
Approximately 20 campuses will offer The Drop to students this fall.
“The Drop uses existing kitchen space, equipment, and staff members to offer new brands and menu items on a college campus,” Karen Parker, chief marketing officer, Aramark Collegiate Hospitality, said in the announcement. “It’s a great way to provide variety and continue to deliver great food and great experiences to our customers.”
Through The Drop’s easy-to-use interface, guests choose from several menu categories that are most popular on campus, such as burgers, chicken, sandwiches, and authentic ethnic cuisine.
Then, based on performance and market trends, Aramark Collegiate Hospitality team members add or remove brands and menu concepts from The Drop over time.
Several design options are available, ranging from a simple pick-up window to a complete dining concept. Each can be used as designed – or customized to a specific client’s needs.
