After more than 40 years of leadership in the amusement business, Rick Kirby is transitioning to a new role as executive vice president of Betson Gaming.
Kirby started his industry career with Bally Northeast. Upon its closing, he joined H. Betti Industries, which established Betson New England Distributing Co. Inc., known as NECO, under his stewardship. At NECO, Kirby managed the Northeast territory and key national accounts.
Additionally, Kirby served as divisional president of Betson Enterprises for a period. During his long tenure at Betson, he was involved in vending equipment distribution, too.
The industry veteran also served as president of the American Amusement Machine Association. AAMA bestowed on him its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. In 2002, the New York Amusement and Music Owners Association honored him as its Man of the Year, and in 1987 he was the Coin Machine Industry Association of Massachusetts' Man of the Year.
In his Betson Gaming role, Kirby will continue to work with key supplier, customer and legislative relationships in relevant jurisdictions.
