Machine manufacturing giant Evoca Group reported that the Italian government had implemented decrees with new restrictions, in order to limit and confine the COVID-19 escalation in Italy, which temporarily closed its main factory in Valbrembo.
The decrees included measures to limit the movement of people between Italian provinces and in public spaces.
Since then, Evoca said it has actively rolled out several companywide actions to protect the health of its employees and to ensure business continuity. Measures include the implementation of “smart working” procedures that limit employee's commuting and “crowding” in facilities, strong restrictions on business travel and reducing the number of visitors.
To date, there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Evoca’s employees, the company said.
As a result, the company’s manufacturing sites Valbrembo, Mozzo and Mapello based in the Province of Bergamo, as well as the Parma plant, were able to reopen in mid-March following a two-week safety closure.
Evoca’s logistic hub in Grassobbio remained fully operational during March, guaranteeing the shipment of orders. The company’s other manufacturing facilities in Italy, including those in Gaggio Montano and Orcenico, along with its international manufacturing facilities in Spain, Canada and Romania, also remained opened.
