PENNSAUKEN, N.J. -- J&J Snack Foods Corp., whose foodservice brands include Icee, Luigi’s Italian Ice, Super Pretzel and Funnel Cake Factory, reported that its senior vice president chief operating officer will retire. Robert Radano will remain with the company through the remainder of the 2021 fiscal year as the company searches for a successor.
After graduating from Villanova University, Rodano joined J&J in 1972 as a part-time truck driver and quickly rose through the company's ranks.
J&J sales for the fourth quarter fiscal 2020, ended Sept. 6, decreased 19% to $252.5 million from $311.9 million in last year’s fourth quarter. For the year ended Sept. 26, 2020, sales decreased 14% to $1.022 billion from $1.186 billion last year. Net earnings decreased to $6.6 million ($.35 per diluted share) in this year’s fourth quarter compared to $26.1 million ($1.36 per diluted share) last year.
