Reliaquest, Kaspersky Provide Security Advice In Advance Of Black Friday, Cyber Monday

Nov. 22, 2019

While the week that follows Thanksgiving presents ample opportunity for bargain shopping, security faces an uptick in threats as criminals are looking to make a profit here as well, and both retailers and consumers are at risk.

It's critical for retailers to be proactive both by informing customers of the work they're doing to protect consumers against upcoming threats and by internally preparing by taking security steps, according to a Kaspersky blog post that outlines reasons to be vigilant and common security attacks that could occur.

Joe Partlow, the chief technology officer of ReliaQuest, a security management company, provides four best practices for those handling security for retailers in an article for Total Retail. Those include training staff to look out for security problems and updating software.
