Necco Acquired By Sweetheart Candy Co. After Spangler Deal Falls Through

Sweetheart Candy Co. bought The New England Confectionery Company (Necco) after the deal Spangler had made with Necco fell through early last week, according to Fortune. The Wall Street Journal reported that according to court documents, Spangler pushed for the price to be adjusted, which caused the sale to collapse.  

Necco was bought by Sweetheart Candy Co., owned by the Metropoulos family, for $17.3 million.
