Iowa Governor Terry Branstad said he will consider a statewide minimum wage increase, which would replace minimum wage hikes being approved on a county-by-county basis throughout the state, according to the Des Moines Register.
Branstad did not, however, go into the specifics of what the new minimum wage might be. The state has held a $7.25 per hour minimum wage since 2008.
The source reports the governor also appeared to leave the door open for leaving the minimum wage at its current amount. Several counties in Iowa have approved individual minimum wage hikes.
