The American Heart Association and several state lawmakers are pushing for legislation to mandate healthier items in Massachusetts vending machines on state property, reports WWLP. David Day of the American Heart Association told the source that the goal of the healthy vending bill “is not to necessarily take away options, but it’s actually to increase the healthy options that are available to people.”
Bill H.3988 was referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means. It would cost taxpayers around $100,000 to implement statewide.
