Wendy's Debuts Veggie Burger In Three Select Markets

Jan. 20, 2016

Fast food restaurant chain, Wendy’s is testing a new vegetarian black bean burger in Salt Lake City, UT; Columbus, OH; and Columbia, SC. The black bean burger can be made vegan when ordered without the cheese and ranch sauce, making it customizable for even more specialty diets.

Editor’s note: With the popularity of alternative diets such as vegetarian and gluten free, it’s unsurprising that more restaurant chains are trying to offer these options, one of the earliest being White Castle’s veggie slider in 2014. It will be interesting to monitor the success of such a move away from traditional meat products and whether vending and micro market operators should do so as well.
