Five Star Food Service Blog: What Does 2016 Hold For The Vending Industry?

Jan. 7, 2016

Continued technology adoption, office coffee service growth and potential Department of Energy amendments are just a few hot topics for vending, micro market and office coffee service operators going into 2016, according to a recent blog published by TN-based company Five Star Food Service.

In its recurring blog, Five Star put an emphasis on technology within the vending industry. “The meaningful incorporation of mobile technology into the vending industry, to the point of it being a cornerstone in a business plan, has yet to occur, but soon mobile technology will play a large part in vending strategy,” the author wrote. “The potential to have a completely different consumer makeup in the near future is real, and getting much closer starting next year.”

Micro markets were another topic of interest, with the company predicting that growth will also continue in the New Year, citing its own micro market annual growth rate of more than 45 percent.
