Missouri Lawmaker Proposes Statewide Minimum Wage Increase

Missouri Democratic State Representative Michael Butler has proposed legislation that would increase the state’s minimum wage from $7.65 per hour to $15 per hour, St. Louis Business Journal reports.

Although there are not high hopes for Butler’s House Bill 1453, Missouri Jobs with Justice, a coalition of community, labor, student and religious groups “fighting for economic justice in Missouri,” is attempting to get a minimum wage increase on the statewide ballot in 2016.
