Chemistry Professor Develops Antioxidant-Infused Coffee

Dec. 14, 2015

A new heart-healthy coffee has come to market. Seacoast Online reports that Glen Miller, University of New Hampshire Chemistry Department chair, has developed a coffee that provides the same benefits to the heart as red wine.

Miller takes Arabica beans and infuses them with resveratrol, the all-natural antioxidant found in the skins of grapes. The infusion occurs during the roasting. Miller says each cup of the product, CoffVee, provides the same amount of antioxidants as a glass of red wine.

The product is sold through Miller’s Vera Roasting Company.
