KAMC President Speaks Out In Favor Of Granting State Sales Tax Exemption To Vended Food
Nov. 20, 2015
Kentucky Automatic Merchandising Council (KAMC) President Ron White believes that food sold in vending machines in the state of Kentucky should not be subject to the state sales tax, according to WMKY. Items like bread, rolls and donuts are exempt from the sales tax if purchased in a retail store, said White, so imposing a sales tax on food bought from vending machines is unfair.
White told the source that if the tax is lifted, vending operators would be able to reinvest the money they save into their businesses.
