Colorado Lawmakers To Hear Discussions On Two Bills To Raise The Minimum Wage

March 23, 2015

Colorado lawmakers will hear discussions on two bills that would raise the state’s minimum wage, Fox 31 reports. The first bill would allow local governments to raise wages on their own accord. The second bill would increase the state’s minimum wage from $8.23 per hour to $12.50 per hour by 2020. The second bill needs support from two-thirds of the Colorado Legislature for it to be placed on the ballot, reports CBS Denver.

Colorado’s minimum wage increased $0.22 on Jan. 1, 2014 and $0.23 on Jan. 1, 2015.
