(CHICAGO) August 20, 2014 -- Jeffery Smith, All Star Services CEO and NAMA Government Affairs Chair, hosted Michigan State Representative Dan Lauwers (R-Brockway Township) for a site visit on Tuesday, August 19.
Rep. Lauwers met with All Star Services staff, along with Michigan Distributors & Vendors Association (MDVA) President, Polly Reber, and Governmental Consultants Lobbyist, Steve Young.
“It was an honor to have Congressman Lauwers visit All Star and see our operation first-hand,” Smith said. “During our time together, we discussed our business and the challenges we face today, including federal legislation and USDA requirements for schools.”
“Congressman Lauwers’ visit is part of an enhanced effort by the NAMA Government Affairs Division to educate elected officials on our industry,” said Eric Dell, NAMA’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. “It is essential to our advocacy efforts to have lawmakers who are familiar with the vending and refreshment services industry and realize the impact that legislation has on our members,” he concluded.
Rep. Lauwers’ visit also included a tour of the facility. “We shared technology advances, including wireless and remote monitoring system capabilities,” Smith said. “Our focus is enhancing the customer experience and one way we do that is through advances in technology.”
