Celebrate National Vending Day
Celebrating the pivotal role of the vending industry in daily American life, National Vending Day is held annually on March 6. The National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) encourages operators and others allied to the industry to help draw attention to the industry behind the original unattended retail outlets. In addition, 10 states — Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas — recognize National Vending Day through official proclamations or resolutions.
Industry highlights from NAMA:
- The convenience services industry generates more $34.9 billion annually
- It employs more than 160,000 individuals
- It disburses $10.4 billion in wages
- It contributes $3.5 billion in taxes across federal, state and local levels
More than 40 million Americans use vending services daily at various venues, including workplaces, schools and recreational sites.
This year’s theme, “Convenience That Cares,” emphasizes the personal stories and community contributions of those within the vending sector.
