Vendors Supply Founder Jim Sikes Dies At Age 83

Jim Sikes, chairman and owner of Vendors Supply, Inc., passed away on Sept. 22 at the age of 83. Sikes founded Vendors Supply, Inc. in 1964 in Columbia, S.C.  He was the recipient of Ernst & Young’s 1996 “Entrepreneur of the Year” award and a 2001 “Vendor of the Year” award winner. His son, Randy Sikes, has been president and CEO of Vendors Supply, Inc. since Sikes’ retirement in 2010. Funeral service for Sikes will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Park Street Baptist Church, Columbia, S.C.
