Warren, MI-based Variety Food Services is helping Shelby Township offer healthy alternatives in vending machines as well as finance its employee wellness program, according to The Source. Variety Food Services has agreed to stock better-for-you snacks and beverages along with traditional vending items to allow employees and users choice when snacking. As an added benefit, the new vending machines allow users to pay with credit cards.
Part of the revenue generated from equipment in Township Hall, the Shelby Township Senior Center, the Department of Public Works building and Mae Stecker Park will be donated to support a program for employee welllness, reports the source. Variety Food Services will also donate $250 annually to the township's Veterans Memorial.
