HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (PRWEB) JUNE 20, 2016—Grow Healthy Vending sponsored and participated in the 23rd annual Kids Ocean Day, which took place on June 2 in Huntington Beach, CA. Kids Ocean Day is a project of The Malibu Foundation for Environmental Education and specializes in school outreach and coastal quality issues. The event brought out over 1,000 local elementary school students to the beach to participate in a cleanup and aerial art project. It provides an opportunity for students to interact with the environment in order to truly learn the importance of preserving it. Over 680,000 California school children have participated in this program throughout its 23 year history.
Grow Healthy Vending’s staff had the opportunity to volunteer alongside two local schools, Peters Elementary in Garden Grove and James Madison in Anaheim. Stevie Koller, a Grow Healthy employee who organized Grow's participation, stated "We were working as a group to give back to our local community, promote a healthy marine habitat and enrich the lives of children while sharing our passion for healthy living. It was a great day of bonding with teachers and the kids, helping them make a difference in the environment and in their community." Other volunteers included The Orange County Coastkeeper, The California Coastal Commission, volunteers from Disney and many other small and independent volunteer teams.
