New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently signed a law that amends the number of reverse vending machines (RVMs) a business must have based on the square footage used to sell beverages. Businesses with at least 40,000 but less than 60,000 square feet would be required to install two instead of three RVMs. Businesses with at least 60,000 but less than 85,000 square feet would be required to install three instead of four RVMs. Businesses with at least 85,000 square feet would be required to install four instead of eight RVMs.
