As the Coca-Cola Company begins its national rollout of the new Dunkin' Donuts bottled iced coffee, it sees strong demand for this RTD category.
“In the U.S., the multi-billion-dollar ready to drink coffee category has been growing by double digits annually since 2011 and shows no signs of slowing down,” said Scott Corley, VP of Foodservice On-Premise and Vending, The Coca-Cola Company. “For micro market retailers, increasing the availability of RTD coffee portfolio presents a huge opportunity to capitalize on category growth and increase sales.”
The Coca-Cola Company introduced Dunkin’ Donuts Ready to Drink, or RTD, Coffee to vending and micro markets in January, offering coffee and tea lovers a great-tasting, high-quality offering to enjoy throughout the day. illy coffee beverages are already available in vending and, with an expanding RTD coffee portfolio, the company is able to offer consumers a variety of great-tasting options in a beverage category that is poised for sustained growth. Canned and bottled coffee is a natural extension of the premium coffee culture in the U.S., which has been fueled in recent years by the growing popularity of iced and cold-brewed varieties. RTD coffee satisfies people’s cravings for a convenient pick-me-up to enjoy at home or on the go.
The Dunkin’ products are designed to match what people currently drink in Dunkin’ restaurants today. Dunkin’ Donuts RTD Coffee is now available in Original, Mocha, French Vanilla and Espresso, sold in grocery, convenience stores, mass merchandisers, micro markets and Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants across the U.S. Dunkin’ Donuts RTD Coffee will be marketed to the general population as a rich, smooth RTD coffee beverage that can be enjoyed throughout the day. The RTD coffees are packaged in 13.7-ounce PET bottles that have a suggested retail price of $2.65. The company will combine its brand-building and distribution expertise together with Dunkin’ Donuts’ renowned coffee expertise to offer a new way for people to enjoy the great taste of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.
