California-based Peet’s Coffee announced plans to build a second roastery in Suffolk, VA, according to SFGate.
The new $58 million plant will be 175,000 square feet and create an estimated 135 jobs. Dave Burwick, CEO, told the source that the company is growing rapidly in all parts of the company. “For us it’s all about sourcing great beans, roasting them to perfection and getting those beans to consumers as quickly as possible.”
Its location will easily allow the company to import beans from growers as well, the source reports.
