Reuters: Nestle On "High Alert" After JAB's Coffee Deals

Feb. 19, 2016

Nestle will be 'stepping up' investment in its coffee business to put more distance between itself and JAB Holding Co., according to Reuters. After Nestle reported weaker than expected full-year results, Chief Executive Paul Bulcke said, "We are on high alert … because we see what’s happening out there," Reuters wrote. "We like good competition and it looks like we’re going to have good competition there."

In December JAB Holdings Co. announced it would acquire Keurig Green Mountain, adding to its list of other acquisitions including Peet’s Coffee and Tea in 2012, Caribou Coffee in 2013 and others.
