RealCup™ single serve capsules passed a milestone as the beverage industry's newest player in the single-serve market celebrated the 25 million mark in unit production.
Launched in August 2012, RealCup™ capsules are available to consumers in a variety of coffee and tea blends on online, select retail outlets and to office coffee service and foodservice providers across North America.
Mother Parkers drew on 100 years of experience and innovation in the coffee and tea industries to develop RealCup™, according to the company. RealCup™ uses a unique, patented filter design that delivers full flavour because it is optimized for brewing performance, allowing more of the coffee and tea flavour to pass through. RealCup™ is K-Cup® brewer compatible, but is not affiliated with K-Cup® or Keurig Inc.
"RealCup is changing the single-serve capsule market by offering alternatives that deliver great taste in the cup for consumers and foodservice operators," said Jeffrey Zietlow, Director of marketing for RealCup™, in a prepared statement. "With partners including quality coffee brands like Brown Gold®, Martinson® and Marley Coffee™, as well as the popular Higgins & Burke™ brand of teas, developing a capsule technology that can maintain the true taste of a hot beverage was a top priority."
