“Celebrating  unsugarcoated realness” that conveniently underscores its  zero-sugar, naturally sweetened soda brand offering, Zevia highlights its “realness” in a new ad campaign with country music star Jelly Roll.

“Jelly Roll? In a Zevia commercial? This is huge,” says a young bystander watching from a nearby fence as Jelly Roll approaches a vending cooler at a remote gas station in the ad. “By choosing him as the spokesperson for their zero sugar soda with zero artificial ingredients, Zevia is dismantling the notion that quote unquote real men cannot be conscious of what goes into their bodies. Mr. Roll is now, quite literally, the poster child for sweet authenticity.”

The ad follows up on a “time to get the fake out of here” branding message featured in its holiday season ad.

What they are saying

“Zevia is the real deal. Nothing artificial and still tastes amazing. Unlikely? Yes. But true? Absolutely. As real as it gets,” said Jelly Roll, in a release announcing the collaboration.

“Our strategy is to make the Zevia brand as anti-artificial as our products, and stand out by entertaining people while cutting through culture and the clutter of the category,” said Kirsten Suarez, CMO of Zevia, in a release. “Jelly Roll was the perfect partner for this idea because not only is he a charming superstar with broad appeal, he is also so genuinely real, and open about his own personal health journey.”
