Swire Coca-Cola, USA Opens Newest Colorado Facility In Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Johnstown Mayor Scott James will be on hand to help open Swire Coca-Cola, USA’s newest distribution center in Colorado at 4600 High Plains Boulevard, Johnstown, Colorado on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Mayor James will join Swire Executives at a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 AM (Mountain Time). 

Swire Coca-Cola, USA broke ground in June 2016 on the 126,000-square foot facility which will serve approximately 2,900 customers across Northern Colorado, including Denver’s North Metro suburbs, Loveland, Ft. Collins, Greeley, and Estes Park. In addition, the facility will be hiring local workers to support the Johnstown operations.

The Johnstown facility located on 11.2 acres at I-25 and Highway 34 will employ 165 people and features 51 truck stalls moving 4.5 million cases of product annually. While the facility will assume a shift of some of Denver’s current distribution volume, it positions Swire to compete more aggressively, respond more acutely to the needs of its customers, as well as engage in the community with greater depth.

In 2013, The Coca-Cola Company and Swire Coca-Cola, USA announced an agreement to transfer operations of production and distribution in Colorado of Denver and Colorado Springs territories to Swire Coca-Cola, USA. The Johnstown facility builds upon that expansion, bringing the total number of sales centers to seven statewide. Swire Coca-Cola, USA most recently announced completion of its refranchising agreements with The Coca-Cola Company in May 2017 with the acquisition of territories in Oregon.
