New Study Finds LED Lights Improve Taste Of Milk

Dec. 12, 2016

Virginia Tech researchers recently conducted a study on the effects different types of beverage cooler lighting have on milks, according to Tech Times. The results suggested that not only do LED lights in beverage coolers save energy, but they actually enhance the flavor of the milk. Milk stored in coolers with fluorescent lights was described as stale and painty.

Editor's Insight: This might be happening in vending machines too. As more vending operators switch to LEDs, they could see an improvement in milk sales. This is possibly affecting other beverages as well, but we will have to wait for more research to know for sure.
