Colombian Coffee Production Falls 4% In The Last 12 Months

Bogotá, March 5, 2018 (FNC Press Office) - Between March 2017 and February2018, exports reached 12.8 million bags, 1% down from the nearly 13 million bags exported in the same previous period. 

Within estimates of the FNC due to climatic effects, Colombian coffee production in the last 12 months fell 4% to 13.97 million bags from the 14.57 million bags harvested between March 2016 and February 2017. 
 
In February coffee production was 1.2 million 60-kg bags, a 6% decrease from the nearly 1.3 million bags produced in February 2017. 
 
Year-to-date production exceeded 2.3 million bags, down 9% from the nearly 2.6 million bags produced in the first two months of 2017. And so far this coffee year (October 2017-February 2018), production was nearly 6.3 million bags, a 10% decrease compared to the over 6.9 million bags produced during the same previous period. 

In the last 12 months (March 2017-February 2018), exports reached 12.8 million bags, a 1% reduction from the nearly 13 million bags exported in the same previous period. 
 
In February, Colombian coffee exports were 1.1 million bags, 7% lower than the nearly 1.2 million bags exported in February 2017. 
 
So far this year (January-February 2018), exports exceeded 2.1 million bags, a 9% decrease from over 2.3 million bags in the same period a year before. 
 
And so far this coffee year (October 2017-February 2018), Colombia’s coffee exports exceeded 5.6 million bags, 11% down from the over 6.3 million bags exported between October 2016 and February 2017.
