PepsiCo will be launching an organic version of Gatorade sometime this year, according to FORTUNE. PepsiCo executive Al Carey made the announcement at the Beverage Digest Future Smarts conference in New York last month, stating that consumers are invested in non-GMO and organic products.
It was not disclosed which Gatorade ingredients will be organic.
The move to introduce an organic Gatorade is part of PepsiCo’s broader strategy to strengthen its portfolio of ‘healthier’ products, the source reports.
Last month PepsiCo announced its Hello Goodness vending initiative which features a selection of good- and better-for-you product choices from the company's portfolio.
