Research has found that caffeine protects against the effects of stress, according to Comunicaffe. Scientists subjected mice to stressful situations and found the mice would lose their appetites and become anxious. Scientists revealed that adding caffeine to the animals’ drinking water before putting them under pressure stopped the previous symptoms from developing. Researchers determined that caffeine blocks a stress-related chemical. The source reports, however, that more research is needed.
