A panel of San Francisco lawmakers voted to move forward on laws that would place a warning labeling on soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages, according to Reuters. The proposed warning label on the beverage would read: “Drinking beverages with added sugar leads to obesity, diabetes and tooth decay. This is a message from the City and County of San Francisco." The laws would also ban advertising of sugary drinks on city property and the spending of city funds on buying these beverages. The laws will now move from the panel to the full board for consideration.
