Dan Marchetti, president of Rendezvous Music & Vending in Eureka, Calif., was named NAMA’s Vending Operator of the Year as part of the association’s 2014 Industry Awards. Marchetti will be presented his award at the 2014 NAMA OneShow in Chicago, Ill., April 9 to 11.
The NAMA Vending Operator of the Year Award recognizes an individual and their company who has exhibited the highest level of integrity, dedication and leadership in the vending industry and demonstrated the promotion of NAMA’s nutrition and wellness campaigns. The recipient of this award must have developed and implemented practices to combat obesity, ideally in schools and business institutions. The recipient of this award must excel in all areas of business and show leadership within the community.
Marchetti’s father and grandfather founded Rendezvous Music & Vending. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1973, Marchetti worked full time in vending in Oregon before moving to Eureka, Calif., to work for the family business. He began as a vending route driver and has risen to president of the company, having now been in the vending business for over 40 years.
Marchetti is a board member on the California Automatic Vendors Council and was voted its Operator of the Year in 2013. In addition to NAMA, Marchetti is a member of the Amusement and Music Operators Association (AMOA) and the newly formed California Entertainment Machine Association (CEMA).
