Nielsen Creates "Clean" Label Definition Based On Consumer Buying Habits

The Nielsen Company has created a progressive definition of the term "clean label," which is a key decision making factor for consumer purchases, especially food and beverages. Many consumers report making their final purchasing decision based on the item having a "clean" label, but there is no universal definition. Nielsen created a definition that includes 5 key label segments consumers look for, including conventional, free from, clean, simple and sustainable.
